Hi, I’m looking for some advice on lighting, I have a 55 gallon long with 2 Kessil a360w which I am more than happy with but I’m having trouble figuring out the right intensity and color I don’t have anything in the tank yet just finishing up the tank cycle, but I’d like to get some ideas on lighting spectrum, I plan on doing soft coral and fish to start maybe down the road a bit I’ll get some SPS or LPS corals, but what should my lighting spectrum be for soft coral and fish?

While we wait , every color that comes out of a kessil will grow coral.

Intensity is what you’ll want to look at.

Picking a par range in the tank is kinda key, depending on what you’d like to keep.

@saltyfilmfolks is correct, no matter what color percentage you use, it's going to be a spectral blend that will grow corals. This is what kessil refers to as "kessil logic". Essentially all you're doing when you up the color percentage is adding in more red green and yellow to make the tank look aesthetically pleasing to the eye. as far as intensity, I would mount them between 6.5 to 8 inches off the water surface and start out at around 20-30% intensity if you're doing soft corals. As you start getting into more advance sps corals you can start increasing the intensity. But do it slowly over the course of several weeks so that your soft corals don't get shocked from a sudden increase of light.

Ok, yeah I have my light about 9 inches off the surface and I keep the intensity at 30% it looks great after I moved it the polyps are wide open and he it looks great
