Hey! I recently set up my first tank. A biocube 32. Honestly I wish I woudnt have gotten an AIO. I have it now and it's cycled. There are no fish or coral in it. I want my coral to thrive so I know I'm going to need to upgrade my lighting. Has anyone on here used the ai prime in this tank? And has anyone successfully grown zoas and others soft corals with the stock lights? Thanks!

I don’t have that tank, but I had an AI prime at one point. I ended up returning it and getting Kessil 160’s if I remember correctly the light’s fan made a really loud noise. YMMV

I believe the stock light pushes about 52 PAR at 12”
Maybe some low light softies, mushroom, Xenia, leather, GSP would be Ok.
In a 32, I would like to push available PAR up to 500-700,(10x your stock light) while I might use only 350-400 top Centre, 200-350, mid range and 80-120 on the bottom.

I'm new to all of this I understand par but what light would you recommend. I don't want to spend a ton. Thanks!

When you replace the light, do you plan on removing the lid or trying to rig it up in the lid in place of the stock light?
I'm open to both options. The only thing I worry about with taking the lid off is light being in my eyes sitting on the couch.

How far will it be from you? My Aqueon 29 gallon has 2 Kessil A360X lights on it and is about 9 ish feet away from where I normally sit on my couch, and the glare is not really existent. Only time I get a glare in my eye is when I recline all the way back and stupidly look in the general direction of the lights, as opposed to towards the tank.

*Probably looks like there should be an annoying glare in the two pics below, but I never notice it. Especially not during the day.

It's about 10 feet away but i would be faxing towards it.

Following. I set up my 32 gallon biocube almost 4 weeks ago and I’m also looking for a lighting upgrade. I would like to be able to have the option of growing sps at the top of the tank one day. I’m thinking of the reefled 50 model so I can move it to a bigger tank one day in the future.

I would recommend the Visparspectra 165watt, I paid $150 Cdn, delivered by Amazon fast,
simple 2 channel no WiFi, with timer for each channel.
Running three years, will grow anything.
A 32 cube would need just one.
They are made for hanging from ceiling although some have found different ways to use in canopy.

Here’s a shot that may spark an idea, or exclude this light for your use.
