hi again, this is my goal to srtip down my 55g and transfer rock, sand and the few inhabitants in there to the new 65
my tank is going to be in the wall the space up top is min i found a lite that will fit it, it will have 4 54w bulbs ho t5 what ratio would you recomend 1 actinic or 2, 1 daylite
and 1 purple any suggestions are welcome ps planing for reef min. fish possiably clams

IMO ATI bulbs are the best, they are what work for me and I love the color I get from them. What I run on my tank and what I recommend is 2 blue+, 1 aquablue special, and 1 purple+. For me this give a good amount of blue with out being too blue.

Thats the exact setup I have on my T5 fixture downstairs (although I'm selling it this week). Gives a great color with that combination.

I have two aquablue special, one blue+, and one purple+ on mine. It's not nearly as blue as a lot of other tanks I see, which is good for me. I don't like the real blue tanks. I guess it's all in what you like. I've yet to find any data that says more blue is better, but if there is, I'd probably swap one of the aquablue specials out.

Blue is all for looks and to bring out coral coloration.

I have a standard 55 gal and I Just switched to all ATI 54W.

IT is a 20K look and I just love how it pops the chalices and zoas. Most of the sps look great too.

Look at this website here .
Grim Reefer from "the other site" put it together.

ATI blue+ put out as much par as most white bulbs.

That is the same combination I run (only x 2 in an 8 bub fixture) I love it
