Hey guys

Sorry if this topic has already been tried and tested but whats everyone's views and experience's on red lights? I have heard that red light can cause algae issues!

I my self am using the TMC V2 Iluminaire 600 an have all my red LED's turned off so just have the whites & blues going !

Also what is everyone's light timings?

Most of us use very little reds and greens, as they are both great for growing algae in your DT. Only use the amount of them you need for your viewing pleasure.

I have just blues on during the first and last hour each day.

ok thanks for that advice i will put some reds on then i mean i understand that some people use reds for there macro algae in the refs i however dont have a ref or indeed any macro algae to be honest
 
To me- algae causing spectrum hence it’s use for chaeto
I run at 3-4%
 
One tank- hydra 26hd
Another tank - all Orpheks
