Thinking about replacing my MH bulb to a Phoenix 14K for my Solana 34, but after reading many reviews one thing stands out....Many people report the bulb is too blue. Have any of u had any experience w/ this bulb. I have even thought about staying w/ a 10 K and adding T5 actinics. Currently LED'S are out of my budget:( Your advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have this exact bulb on my 20 gallon. It is a blue bulb but I've seen the same bulb more white with a different ballast. Mine is run in a coralife aqua light pro with 2 65w actinics. It's not too blue for me but I like the bluer shade over the bright white or yellow. The radium is my favorite for color but the growth stinks. I also have used ushio 14k which is very yellow and better for growth but the color stinks.

The Phoenix is my favorite for color and growth.

Definitely not too blue, and thankfully not too white either.
I love mine, and if it hadn't been demoted to the FOWLR I'd spend the money to add a strip of royal blue LEDs like I did my reef tank.

double ended.

Yup, the bulb will give out a blue.. Which you might not like :( But dont get discouraged!!! The 250w DE has a nice color and will always recommend the PHX 14k 250w.

Just for some reason the 150w doesn't IMO..

I would just get an LED fixture for that size of tank... GL!!
