After being away from the hobby for 15 or so years, I’m jumping back in. Like some others I’m trying for a softies/macro set up in a 35 gal cube. I have a xr15 pro/RMS over the top currently. Question is can I use one of the preset templates from Mobius app that will satisfy the lighting needs of the softies and the macros ? Should I be checking par levels in a tank this small to avoid excessive amounts ? If I should be checking par, how could I do that short of buying a $500 meter ?

Maybe the Radiant template? (I have this on my mostly soft/LPS reef) Well, short of an actual PAR reading - based on the XR30 G5 Blue that I had above my IM Fusion 25 Lagoon (also with an RMS mount) I'd probably suggest start at 30-35% and increment it by maybe 5% per week - but no more than 45-50% max.
