Welcome to R2R! AI Primes are some of the most popular lights in the hobby for a reason. Good value, easily programmed and versatile. I think you will be happy but you will probably need two if you want more light-demanding corals like most SPS. Start with one and add a second later if you need it. Good luck.

Welcome ! Like everyone else has said take your time and be patient…. I know that might be hard because I have two young sons myself and seeing them get excited is a special feeling. The AI Prime will be enough for most beginner to intermediate corals and if you want to move on later to hard corals you can always upgrade then but the tank will need to mature by then anyways so the prime is a good start. Once the tank is cycled you can slowly start adding fish and clean up crew members, maybe make it so you guys pick one fish or clean up crew every so often to keep it exciting until your tank is ready for coral.
