It not an easy answer. There are high light coral and low light coral.
So many adjust intensity for that.

You’ll get a lot of different advice and experience on it.

I’d reccomend a mixed reef setting.

Also time or photoperiod is a factor.

How high above the tank is it ?

Couple of variables I need to know. Tank dimensions. Corals your keeping. How high off the waters surface are they mounted and what are you using to control them.

its a Reefer 170 so its 60x60x60 Cm. and i keep my light at 15cm above the surface and i use Kessil spectral controller, my intention is to keep SPS

So it's a 24" cube and you have the light 6 inches off the waters surface. I would mount the light 6 to 7 inches off the waters surface. Run a 10 hour photoperiod. As far as color it's dealers choice. Start out blue and have it ramp up to whatever color pleases your eye. Intensity wise you can eventually ramp it up to 80 to 90 percent intensity. But I'd start out low and slowly ramp it up or run the longest acclamation program the spectral controller will let you run which I believe is 14 days.

That's a good starting point do you have access to a par meter or a lux meter? Otherwise check out the bulk reef supply video on the a360 for the par numbers over their 24 inch cube

i have killed alot of SPS already and to make a long story short, the light was with answers at hand the least problem but still i want some references as the Kessil is a very powerful light imo.

Do you have any corals in the tank now? If so, what are they and how are they health wise. If they're doing well, don't mess with your lighting (foolish to change for the sake of change).

I agree. The best thing you can do for your coral is pick a color and intensity and let it be. Constantly changing your spectrum and intensity can actually be worse for your corals then having it slightly to high.

You mentioned you turned it down, have you noticed any improvements?

When the tank was a mixed reef, I used the following:

Color ramps from 0%-60% for two hours (10am-12pm and 8pm-10pm). Remains untouched at 60% color from 12pm-8pm.
Intensity ramped from 0%-40% for six hours and then back down to 0% (up from 10am-4pm and then back down). Worked fine for euphylia, duncan, monti cap, a couple acros up high, mushrooms, etc..
