I am curious as to if these lights can be used for corals? Some corals came with my live rock and i wasnt planning on starting corals yet but had this bulb for use on plants.

This bulb would not be good for corals. These bulbs primarily give out the red pink spectrum. This will promote algea growth and not coral growth.
Corals primarily need the blue/violet actinic spectrum. If you want a similar type of bulb for your corals you should go with a PAR38 blue bulb.

Yes it'll work. A Phillips led from Home Depot at 4800k would look better and work better.

Fwiw those grow lights are red and blue.
