I have two questions in the hope someone can help with. My tank has been set up since January 30th, 2020. A 50g IM Nuvo tank, with trigger sump housing bubble-magus curve 5, one sock filter, Kessil H60 over Chaeto, and OctoVarioS2 return pump. I also am running one canster for carbon. Current live stock, One large clown, one small clown, star-fish, file fish, radiant wrasse, and tang. Also, no sand on the bottom.

The first question, I am new with Apex and advance light controls. I am wondering if my light is too bright causing excess algae growth. Here are two pictures of both the lighting schedule and the tank algae.

Second question, my Chaeto will float on top of the water...sometimes sticks up above the water, seams not to be growing lately, and smells. Is this normal?

Ugly algae stages usually last a year, Shorten the lighting if you don't have corals. Chaeto should be submerged, ball it up. Can try to add some iron.
