Guys, I have been cycling the tank for 2 weeks now (with Seachem Stability) with lights off. At which point do I turn on the lights? I have downloaded Saxby’s schedule for my AI Hydra (Reefer 250, build under the link below). Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure about everyone else by I run my lights through my cycle. I waited a week to start my red sea up because I was waiting on the lights to come in. That's just me though.

I don't think it matters. I wouldn't blast it with light until you get a CUC in there. I've cycled rocks and sand in a 40 gallon trashcan with no light and it turned out perfect. I guess the question is how tired are you of looking at a dark tank?

Mine only had natural light for 2 weeks and then got a light on it. Didn’t start seeing diatoms until a month later. No other algae was present.

Lol, exactly! Tired, put so much work into this build and been VERY patient. I am going to get some pods from algae barn and cuc soon.

I wouldn’t get cuc until you start to see algae. They will starve if there isn’t anything growing right now.

Yep, absolutely. Will get pods fattened up first. Will see the algae progress and we will go from there with cuc. Thanks!
