I just got my first fish today and I am running a zetlight 6800 2 —-
I am currently running 1% green and red and 1% UV blue at night .
Will that be alright ?

Run blue only

Run blue only

If you have corals, total darkness at night is best for their health, it allows them to metabolize the byproducts of their symbiotic algae's photosynthesis and expel the harmful stuff.

If there's light, the algae will photosynthesize. The coral animal never gets its downtime, and eventually stresses.

I changed it to 1% blue/UV for tonight. I will look tomorrow and see if I can find a setting where it breaks it down by hour .
Currently, from what I see in the light app is that there is 5 time periods for settings . Dawn, morning, middle of the day, dusk and night.
I would like to run 1% blue until around midnight and let it ramp back up around 6 am possibly .... but again, I have to look through the manual.

thanks for all the advice everyone - if you have any more insight, feel free to leave more comments :)

****edit - do you guys run royal blue/blue or blue/UV . Does either blue work ? The royal blue is noticeably brighter than the blue/UV

I have radions so the options may be a little different. However, I run blues, royal blues, and uv for about an hour after my sunset period ends.
