I'm looking for some quality lights for a 55g reef. I plan on keeping softies for sure, and most likely lps. I would consider doing sps, but I'm not sure. What would be a good lighting setup for most softies, lps, and maybe some hard sps?

A 4 bulb T5 h.o fixture and you can do anything. I have a wavepoint and I love it, and it has individual reflectors for each bulb.

Assuming a standard 48" 55 gallon

That must be a nice simple T5 fixture.
Look like my very first T5 system I've had.
Good relatively inexpensive choice, but...
I would consider the ATI 4 bulb 48" fixture for a bit more with the cooling and German quality to last a life time.
Mine has been working for more than a decade and still amazing. Wait for the Black Friday deal and get it.
