Hi

I have been out of the hobby for about 5 years, and i think is time to get back on the horse.

This time i'm planning a 84x24x22 tank and i'm looking for my new lighting system, i don't need fancy features, i just want some lights i can put, set timers and forget about then, this system will be as hands free as posible, this time i just want to enjoy watching the tank and not messing with it.

I like Kessil for their compact size, but they go over my budget, I don't want spend more than $800 on lightning because i have a lot of expenses with everything else on the tank.

I have rear about de black boxes and they seen fine for what i want, but what other options you can recommend me.

This is the design I'll be building

Welcome to R2R! What do you plan on keeping for corals? This will determine the level of lighting required. Also, are you planning to mount the lights inside the canopy in your above picture? If so, how high will the lights be above the bottom of the tank?

Thanks.

Is gonna be a mixed reef mostly about LPS and soft coral, maybe a few sps (big fan of movement).

Yes, the lights will be in Te canopy, but I can vary the height for the lights I buy, but it'll be at least 12" above water, probably more.
