about two months ago I started ramping up my lights for my new sps corals. 2 weeks ago my I noticed my hammer hadn’t been as open as it was before so I lowered the lights. It’s been a week and I don’t see much if not any more extension. This hammer is my favorite coral it comes before my sps. It’s also splitting if that has anything to do with it.

IME they can take lots of PAR but also don't need tons but like a good amount. Flow seems to compact them more in my system but light does too. That looks fine to me. I like them a bit more compact as the colors are better.
If it's adding heads that's a good thing.

Thanks!

The lower the light the more they open to get light, when the are closed up more, light is brighter

Yours look great. You could always move the branch down a bit to see how it reacts. Usually hammers will let you know pretty quick if they are happy ina spot or not.

Now let’s see pix when you get the new coral
