I have ahydra 26 HD does any one run lights at night? I was thinking of just running the dark blue at lowest level at night

I dont, i just turn them off

I run my lights from 2pm-10 pm. This way I can enjoy the fish a corals when I'm at home and not have the light cycle on while I'm at work.

I have a very gentle moonlight on all night (I have an ATI powermodule hybrid, so I have the rb leds on the lowest intensity). I read in a book by Martin Moe Jr (an eminent Marine Biologist) that fish don't like pitch black and can startle easier. A night light in the room with the tank was another suggested option. I really like having just that little bit of light, it really does look like a moonlit reef. It's not enough light to see much, but I like it.

SPS tank here. No lights on during the night. According to my own experience even having a very dim blue light is detrimental to sps corals as they do not extend their polyps as much as when all lights are off.
