Ok I've read a bunch on this but there doesn't seem to be a definitive choice on the best method. I have red algae in my refugium. Is it best to turn the lights off for 3 days or clean it out or let it be?

Looks like a touch of Cyno. Not a big deal IMO as long as it stays in the fuge. If it bothers you clean it out. Lights out in the fuge might not be great for your cheato either.

None of what you pictured looks healthy. How long do you run the light normally? For now, you can use a sponge to scoop that stuff off the surface to remove some of the goo.

I leave the led on 24/7. The grass looks that way because I pushed it aside to show the algae.

You could run it 12-14 hours a day, perhaps reverse of your normal light cycle. That's what I do.
