Like new Vertex Alpha 300 protein skimmer

I am selling my Vertex Alpha 300 skimmer for $1,000: this was bought new a few months ago from BulkReefSupply.com and they are $1600 new, so this will be a great deal for someone looking for a top of the line skimmer for a larger system. I'm out of room under my tank stand (stand was built too short) and am switching to an external protein skimmer to make some more room beside the tank so I can more easily access the cup for cleaning, so selling this to swap out for an external version. It runs perfectly on my 500 gallon reef tank; I have an extremely heavily stocked tank and have had zero problems with it, it pulls an amazing amount of skimmate from the tank! I hate to let it go, but need something that doesn't have to be in-sump.

Have you found a box to pack it in, and do you know the weight? Hard to determine shipping without that information.

I'll have to check when I get home. I have the large box from my new external skimmer that should work, but not sure of the weight until I get home and put it on a scale. I should be in late this evening or in the morning; I'll post some pics, weight, and I'll confirm it will fit in this box and let you know the dimensions.

Ok, box dimensions are 28"x23"x21" (LxWxH), and around 35 pounds total. On my home scale the full skimmer assembly and pumps was right at 30 pounds, so the box and packing would be roughly 5 pounds extra..Probably not exact with my home scale, but 35 lbs should be pretty close. Let me know if anyone has any other questions.
