Marineland /perfecto 70 cube 30 x 30 x 18

I am still waiting on my darn stand . It is now 4 weeks over due . It's what happens when friends and 60 year old carpenters get involved .

Xmas around the corner and the economy the way it is . I will still try to get this build done . It is a slow process .

I got rid of the I Tech skimmer . I will be using a MSX 160 since the pump is under the skimmer and saves space . I may also go back to my ole DAS BX .

Here is some equipment I have so far .

I was playing with the rock this morning . It is a mock up . It is a mixture Irian Jaya , 1 texas holey rock , 1 lace rock and tatoka rock . I still have tatoka rock in a 37 cube with my frags as the hold tank as well as Irian Jaya to add for filler .

Thanks Mike .

Okay B ,u been hounding me to do this .Where's da support ? BTW thanks for ordering the IJ rock and saving some for me .

Mike ,
It is already drilled . It is in the rear center. I covered the bottom two holes with acrylic . I got ridiculous prices for a 3 sided box so I decided against it . I will prolly just use the hang on overflow I have on hand . Do u know where do get a 3 sided box for a reasonable price ? I thought I would get bashed if I used a exposed stand pipe .

If the back wall was drilled instead of the bottom you could have got one from bulk reef supply. I have the 24" version of your tank and I drilled the back wall. Did they drill the bottom at Marineland for you?

I'm not sure where you could get one cheap unless you make it yourself.

Just went to BRS .
WOW . That's more in my ball park .I was getting quotes in the lower 130.00's . My buddy drilled it . I just helped him break his 93 drilled cube with overflow kit and move it to a 250DD starfire tank. Where is ur build so I can see how u did it .
I am so glad u posted ..

P, I'd drill it. The rock will look great with the pieces mixed in from the existing tank.

Well . The stand is here and I could have a crap fit but it'll have to do . I am in a hurry to get it cycling .

That stand looks sweet! Would like to hear your thoughts on the skimmer, I am thinking of picking one up for my 25"cube.

Thanks,

Skimmer offer a lot of bang for the buck . Very reasonable used now . If new make sure u get the tapered cone like neck and don't mesh it . Mesh can cause start up issues . I would think it's too big for ur ap . Unless u plan on upgrading down the road . U would have to feed the tank a lot I would think . EG: I know someone who had a Deltec mce600 on a 34 gallon solana and it stripped his tank and started paling out his sps . Mind u he wouldn't feed the tank to keep a balance .

P, no problem. The stand came out nice, I'd say worth wait. NOW get that thing filled already!

It's filled .I so love my Kent DI unit . Fill and go with no waste water . The SP is 1.025 ,Prolly will climb a lil more over next day or so . Got the ATO in and the TO jug in .U were right . I had to crank that Eheim back . It got too scary skimming the rim with the water level . First dose of stability is in .
I still have to paint the steel conduit I bent for the light.
Now it's a wait game .
