Hi fellow reefers,
I am upgrading a nano tank from 13G to 20G IM Nuvo tank. I have a paired Tiger pistol shrimp and Yellow watchman goby. They are super busy remodeling the tank everyday. I was thinking adding a small baffle in the tank to keep them on one side of tank only.
Any of you ever tried that? I could also swap them for a smaller and calmer pair but they are real happy in my setup.
Would appreciate any positive input.
Thanks in advance!

I absolutely love the tiger pistol shrimp/yellow WM goby pair and would have a very hard time giving them up! If you started over with another pair, there's no guarantee they will pair up again, but maybe they would in a smaller setup. I have never tried a baffle, but that might work. I just don't keep any frags on my sand bed because I know they would eventually get dragged into a burrow or buried and I'd never see them again!

Yes. I have been using pvc pipes to keep brains and elegance at bottom of tank. It works but was wondering about using a baffle instead. It is an awesome relationship though and well worth the troubles :)

I arranged my rocks so that I had a deeper section of sand and a shallow section only 1/2" or so deep. The shrimp and goby stay on the deep section (aprox. 80% of my sandbed) most of the time. I see them make a trench to explore the other side sometimes but it's not deep enough for the shrimp to get under anything over there.

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you!
