Hi all,

Would like to have a check on my auriga butterfly.
When I got it, it doesn't appear to have that skin color part under it's pectoral fin.

I notice whenever it passby Clownfish territory, the clown will try to bite it, but I'm not so sure it is cause by bitting or not.

So far, it still wats pellets, brine, and raw shrimp.

That looks like an injury that is possibly infected. Alternatively, some tumors may present in a similar way.

I would remove the fish and treat with abx or at the minimum watch it next few days. If it gets worse then you’ll have to treat ASAP.

actually I been monitor it close to a week, it doesn't grow big, it just stay stagnant. But due to the fish still actively swimming & eating i just leave it there.

may i know what is ABX ? As there is limited medication available here. Does seachem focus/metroplex help in this case?

Metro + Focus is usually used to feed Metro directly to the fish's gut to treat internal parasites. Here's a link with antibiotics for both use in a QT and in a bath format:

Clowns can be real mean. They are after all members of the Damsel family.

Thanks for the link.
Actually last week I just dose prazipro to get rid of white poop from 1 of the fish.
Currently i'm waiting for the shipment for Metroplex to reach & then will try on it.

I'm thinking of using Brightwell fish recover M, although is not an antibacterial. But it did quote this seems to be useful as well. " eliminate the bacterial infection but it will also aid in the regrowth of skin tissue lost due to the disease "

This is making me rethink having my Ocellaris pair as among the first fish in my tank.

Yup, clown fishes is a little mean machine, once they gain territory.
I might just trade them off next time, haha.

Brightwell makes some excellent products. Their Angelixir is fantastic for feeding and improving the health of angels.
Seachem makes a similar product that is a wide spectrum antibiotic: Neoplex. Think Neosporin use for humans. This one does much of the same for fish. Works especially well for open sores, wounds.
