Lineatus or a Mystery wrasse???

I would like a nice wrasse in my 40 breeder and have been looking into the Lineatus and the Mystery wrasses. Anyone care to share their experiences with either fish? Thanks.

Stay away from the mystery if you want of have other wrasses.

the 40 will become too small for a mystery wrasse. i tried and had one for 2 years. eventually started bumping into the glass. needs lots of room (4 ft+ as well as vertical) to swim

I have both but they are in a 300. The mystery is definitely a more active swimmer and more secretive. The lineatus is always out swimming in the open. Both a beautiful fish but I am a bigger fan of the fairies myself

I am leaning towards a Lineatus at this point. I like the look of them a little better, but have wanted a mystery wrasse since I first saw them.

Lineatus get just as mean as a mystery IME.

Have you looked into the Scott's fairy. IMO, a much nicer fish for half the price.

BTW, I have them both in my personal tank (Linneatus and Scott's) and they always hang around together. As soon as my camera comes back from Mack I will post some pics.

oh, make sure you cover your tank. my mystery never jumped in 2 years but these fairies are known for their hops.

I meant to type flasher actually! I only have fairy wrasses myself and exciled a mystery wrasse, so I may not the best person to recommend the number of flashers to keep for your tank.

I have 4 wrasses in my 37 gal cube.

Mystery, yellow coris, leopard and red fairy. All were added at the same time to lessen the aggressiveness. works well.
