My first Lineatus wrasse died from Swimbladder/Spinal injury issue. He was very active and did great for 2 weeks then start swimming funny. He died 2 weeks later. I took some break and bought another Lineatus wrasse. I QTed him for 2 weeks and gave him two rounds of prazi treatment. He has been in my DT for 2 weeks now. The tank is lightly stocked with few small fishes and he is the biggest fish in the tank. I am concerned that he is not as active as my first one. He comes out to the front of the tank early in the morning. However, during the day and evening, he hangs out under this arch between two large rock pieces. He pretty much swim steady in that same spot. He only comes out for food or if I turn off the powerheads (I turn off powerheads when I offer food, so I think he believes that it is feeding time). He still eats well and has flawless physical appearance. Should I be concern? I loss about 5 out of 8 wrasses I bought in the past from the same issue. They start swimming funny and eventually die. So I am very worried about this wrasse.

thanks,

I’ve always had the same issue with fairy wrasses. However my halichoeres and cleaner have been happy and healthy for months. Hopefully someone can shed some light on the problem as I would like to know too

I kept my lineatus in QT for 6 weeks and he has been in DT for a month and all seems well.
Are you sure of the cause of death?

It's pretty common with lineatus wrasses. Consider lowering your light intensity and/or having a longer dusk/dawn period.
