Lining inside of Brute trashcan with plastic liner?

I have had 2 Brute Trashcans split down the seam within the last 3 months (1 was a 44 Gal Grey can and the other was a 32 Gal Grey can).


Both cans were stored in my house to hold saltwater for daily waterchanges. Can i line them with plastic somehow to prevent water leaking if i buy another and it splits a seam again?

Interesting I have a 32 gallon that I mix salt in and it's almost always full. Another I store used saltwater for emergency purposes. Both Grey. They've probably been in service for over 6 years.
I don't know that would trust a plastic liner in a can with a split seam.

I think you'd be fine lining the can as a preventative measure in case of a future split. I'd suggest using a heavy duty liner though.

Interesting you had two seams to split in Brut trashcans. Perhaps you should try Rubbermaid the second time around?
