got a blue linkia starfish yesterday, I drip acclimated for 1 hour before putting him in. the tip of his legs are now peeling off, and some dark brown stringy stuff is coming out of him. Is it possible that he can heal himself? I know that linkias are extremely delicate starfish and is reccomended for “expert” only.

He might be able to recover however once the main body starts rotting and deteriorating I would remove him ASAP otherwise he might mess up your tank. I have gotten a bunch from the lfs and sometimes they are not well fed and the tank move shocks them so much it kills them.

Could i cute a leg off of him and he could regenerate his body? Or would that not work

I wouldn’t- it would just stress him out more. I would leave him as he is unless he is rotten or not moving. Place him out on the sand bed and see if he moves into the rocks.
