So I have 4 Aqua UV 25W sterilizers, and I want to know how to best link 3 of them together, as the 4th will be a stand-alone for another tank.

I plan to just use the clear tubing and go Pump > UV > UV2 > UV3 > tubing back to sump.

If I just daisy-chain the three together, there would just be 12” or so sections of tubing to connect each units out-to-in and then 3’ or so from pump in sump and from the last UV back to sump.

Since the only head-space that needs to be covered is just up and over the sump, the only flow restriction will be through the 3 units themselves.

What pump, without adding gate valves and flow meters etc, would I want? I want low flow rate, so I was thinking a 300-400gph pump would work. Do you think I would want a 400gph pump, or do you think with this setup there would be enough internal inhibitors to flow to warrant a stronger pump. If flow is knocked down to as low as 150-200 gph at the end of the chain, I’m fine with that as well.

I want to use as preventative measures for disease. Not currently having any water clarity/algae/disease issues

Thanks

Link them in series and shoot for a maximum of 10 gallons per hour per watt for level 2 sterilization (so 750gph). Dropping down to 200 ish will mean that you are not getting the full volume of your tank through the unit with enough frequency.

It’s 150 total gallons or so. Their guide says 400gph for one unit I believe.....
