Lion fish dead

woke up today to my lion fish dead. He wouldn’t eat Kirl or live goldfish and this morning he was sunk in a corner

They shouldn’t be fed any type of freshwater fish. Did he eat while you had him ?

The fish store told us these were the fish he eats... ugh I’m never listening to them again. No he didn’t eat at all, other than the day we got him

Sorry how old is your tank and size of it? Did you acclimate him correctly? Lion fish are pretty hearty, and when I had mine, he ate ghost shrimp, and frozen mysis shrimp.

I have a 75 gallon tank and it’s 3 1/2 months old. He was acclimated properly but wasn’t eating

Sorry for your loss. Lots of people feed their lionfish these:

it is likely that the...ummmm...morons at your LFS fed him lots of goldfish and he got some kind of worm or infection from them.

goldfish are nasty little buggers. they are truly the carp of the fish trade.
