This morning I woke up and it looks like my puffer is dying, how can I tell if he was stung by my lion fish. I have the lion fish one week and have lost 3 damsils and a snowflake eel. Water tests good. I think it is the lion fish, but can’t be sure.

There will be be a blemish on its skin
These puffers susceptible at times to velvet
Assure it’s not parasitical and ammonia and nitrate not suddenly elevated
What test kits are you using?
What is age of tank?

Was the lionfish also responsible for the damsels and snowflake eel?
I believe so. Damsels he has eaten, have one left. I did not see no marks on the eel. The common denominator was the lion.

Did the damsels die or are they missing?, Lionfish wouldn't kill damsels, they would eat them. It is very unlikely the snowflake's death is from the lion, but as far as the puffer. Puffer's are notorious nippers, and lions have been known to protect themselves, you would see an injury from the spikes. It sounds like to me you have something else going on.

Lions, puffers, and eels all do come in with internal parasites frequently.

I would assume he the ate 3 damsels, they are nowhere to be found. The tanks is 14 months old. there have been no sudden spikes in PH, nitrat, ammonia. Copper is good. We also have one each of: sailfin tang, foxfore, purple tang, clown trigger,Niger trigger. i use the API test kits.
