Hello R2R members,
Its been a fun week for me as fish keeper. 3 possible sick fish with worms in QT, my frontosa has possible HITH out of nowhere and now my antennata lionfish is doing uncontrollable flips in the water, also out of nowhere. No complains, just concerned.
Thank was started 8/5/19, fishless cycle w/ ammonia drops, cycle completed 9/10. Kept adding drops or food for several more weeks to keep adding ammonia. Before adding a fish, waited for ammonia to read 0, then did a 50% water change, fish was added few days later.
Species only tank, 1 - Antennata lionfish. Only fish to be ever put in there.
All symptoms happened today, within a few hours of him just minding his own business and being perched near the heater. I got a feeling like he is not going to make it, but I am hoping he does. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Antennata Lionfish
Symptoms:
- Gills look a bit puffy/swollen, do not look more red than usual.
- Not able to swim well, flips through the water and lands all kinds of ways.
- Breathing normal, slightly heavy, but not fast.
- Skin near tail looks damaged, possible burn?
- Observed a thin white long poop today while he was upside down. Maybe worms too?
Water
-Salinity 1.022-23
-Temp 78F
- ph 7.8-8.0
- Ammonia 0ppm
- Nitrite 0ppm
- Nitrates 0-5ppm
