Hi you guys! We're converting our freshwater to salt and would like to get a lionfish. Tankmates? We want a snowflake eel as well. Thanks in advance for your assistance! 75G tank

I kinda feel that the large angels get too big for a 75 gallon...same for most tangs (a Tomini could work) and groupers...

What species of lionfish are you planning on getting? @lion king can probably tell you all about it. Reason why I'm asking, is that a smaller lion species (fu manchu, dwarf) is compatible with different fish than, say, a Volitans.

Comets (aka marine bettas aka Calloplesiops altivelis) can thrive in a 40B and definitely don't fit the gape profile for most if not all lionfish. A harlequin tuskfish might also work as well.

Lionfish for a 75g would include the dwarf species and the medium bodied lions, the volitan gets over 12" and would get too big. These lions do take special considerations for their care, so careful research is advised. I've posted info on their care in many threads you can find by clicking my name and find all threads.

Tankmates can include small tangs like a tomini or other bristletooth, or even a kole. Research dwarf angels to see what you like. The snowflake works with lions and other fish that are sized as not be eaten.
