List of Southeastern Reef Swaps?

Someone out there have a list of possible dates for swaps around the Southeast?

I'm trying to build my calendar and set up vacation for the year. I don't want to do like last year and schedule my "away" time when there's something big going on.

Nashville-third Sat of Jan,
Montgomery-third or fourth Sat of April
Bmingham-first Sat of June
Knoxville-third Sat of June
Chattanooga-third Sat of Aug
Memphis-third Sat of Sept

Not sure if everyone is having one this year, though...

I heard from Jason that they were thinking about combining the Mont. and B-ham swaps, and have them in B-ham sometime in April.

Well we talked about it at the Tenn. frag swap you and Gnoles had already left. It was also brought up on the North Alabama forum under the topic about the Tenn. swap..

But there has been no decision on it yet.. We as a group need to decide if we are going to have one in Bham or push for a joint swap w/th MRC.

We discussed it at our recent meeting when the new BOD took office. We want to put one on in Montgomery again this year. It's not official that we are even having one yet, but if we do, it will be same as last year-end of April. I brought up the idea of the combined swap, but the fears of so many logistical issues (especially trying to work something up in the next couple of months) directed the decision to keep this year's in Montgomery, if things work out for having one-should know for sure soon. We know what some of the logistical issues could be from other clubs that have combined efforts, so we'd just have to keep them in mind going in so fewer surprises hit us once we got into it. I think it is definitely something to discuss further. There should be a larger market in Birmingham, with Huntsville not far off to add to it (and a growing growing in Cullman).

If you guys decide to run one this year, let me know. I'd be glad to help. I am good at the basics in swaps, etc. I'm a dirt and mud kinda guy, so the finer things sometimes don't come as easy for me, though. My usefulness wears out at some point... Function before form

. Of course, my old notification system for clubs within a 7 hours radius are now not as easily permitted, but necessity is the mother of invention, right?

I don't think that we have enough time to pull off a joint swap this year. We had talked about moving ours to the first weekend in march but it doesn't look like there is enough time for that to happen either. We can discuss this at our next meeting on the 21st.

You know me, any ride, any time. (as long as it doesn't interfere with work)

I like meeting the folks that are in the hobby... my job doesn't make me any friends and my personality runs the rest off, so like topoff water, I have to keep a constant supply of people to talk to.

I'm all for having a combined swap between MRC and BARF, but as gflat and King Ricky both said, I think we snoozed too long for this year. We should have some details on which weekend in April our swap will be on, most likely at the Drury Inn again. I hope those of you who can will come down.

I also hope you guys do have a swap - I thought your event last year was great. I will definitely come up again if you do have one. Please keep everyone posted.

I'll let you know when I find out, Tina. I think Memphis may have made an announcement in the last few days. The Montgomery swap details should be coming out shortly (as well as Bmingham and Knoxville). The last three have been repeated on the same weekends, so they will most likely hold.
