These tube grow EVERYWHERE in my tank. Rocks, walls, equipment, pumps, canister filter.... Just annoying really. I have never seen anything stick out of them. Nothing like a worm or fan. Not to say there is nothing in there I just have never seen it. The are tiny and don't seem to get bigger, just more of them. They are hard tubes and break easily.

If anyone knows what they are is there a way to stop them?

They look like vermetid snails to me. When feeding do you notice any webs or tiny tiny little critters sticking just out the end

Cluster of spinoid worms .
Vermetids have calcareious (calcium like ) tubes. These worms sift and work to grab suspended matter in tank for feeding. Break off their tubes at bases or stave them bu directing flow towards them so that food does not reach them. Super glue gel over their tubes are not as effective as they are for vermetids due to small size of openings.

I'll have to take a closer look at feeding time, but I have never seen anything come out of them. If I had to go after them individually, then that wont work. There are too many of them. They just grow everywhere. :( I guess I'll just have to keep living with them.... Not that big of a bother, but a PIA when cleaning things that is all.... Thanks everyone
