What can I use to clean the dry coraline algae out of the tank? It is stuck on thick and I have a fish only tank...

You can use vinegar and water and let it soak over night and then scrape it. Is it acrylic or glass? If acrylic DO not use a razor blade use a credit card. If glass a razor blade is fine just use caution.

Do You have the help to set it on it's side? that way you use a lot less water & could pour straight vinegar (maybe a1/4 inch? ) on the glass. scrape & clean turn it on another side repeat.

Another question.. I want to paint the back wall black.. I forget from before, any special paint?

I don't know about what paint You use. I personally use removable panels & painted them with black gloss/black. Might change it to blue. Remember if You paint the glass it's a job to scrape it off If Ya don't like the color.

Hmm.. I like that.. What kind of panels?

For my tank, I used a vinyl that had adhesive on the back. My tank is glass, but that way if I want to change the color for some reason, it's easy enough to get the vinyl off. I'd highly recommend it, and you don't have to worry about scratching paint off. The only issue I have with it, is that in one area I didn't do a great job, and there is an air bubble. Other than that, I'd do it this way. It's pretty cheap too, I paid under $20 for the entire back. A 265 will be more expensive, probably double that.

Plasti Dip is a great product, vinyl is easy to do and paint can be scraped and changed. The trick with vinyl is soapy water. I build tanks and we sometimes vinyl the backs. We use either black or blue depending on customer request but a good squeegee and plenty of soapy water is all you need. Personally I would do Plasti Dip it's the easiest to do and easiest to remove.
