So i have a 40 gal breeder been up since April and had neglected the tank for a bit over summer but at the beginning of fall i had things looking pretty good. Water parameters were in check had coraline algae sprouting up everywhere water was clear zoas were growing and spreading well now over the oast 2-3 weeks things have nose dived pretty aggressively. I have cyano green? and red all over gas bubbles covering my rock and nothing is opening up including a small patch of gsp.
The only changes i have really made are i replaced a bag of chemi pure elite maybe a month ago amd adjusted the water level in my sump do to baffle failure which inturn swung my salinity down and now it is actually high i guess i over compensated (oops).
I just want to know how you fine people think i should proceed. I will be doing a water change after i finish this post to scrub out as much cyano as i can. I will also attach some pics so you can see what im working with.

Parameters are a little out if wack tosay too so idk if that would be a cause of some of this or what.
Thanks for taking a look [emoji482]

Ik could be Dino’s you have .. best is too take a sample too a lFS with a microscope and try and get it ID ,
Next you need too raise your alk and mag .. you don’t mention wat your po4 is .. but if it is Dino’s you probably bottomed out on your no3 po4 ..
do a small daily water change 1-2 g , try too siphon as much out as possible each day .. if you have filter socks change and clean them everyday .. and add bacteria .. ..Try and get all your parameters back on point .. get an id and then deal with it appropriately.. if it is Dino’s there’s plenty of threads on here too research !!

Boo didn't want to hear that. Nitrates read 2ppm though and i only have an API phosphate kit which is reading 0. I jad considered the daily water changes i just have to think if a way to make that easy and practical. I had been running socks but i recently yanked them they were a nuisance.

No other help out there? Should i take the bag of chemi pure elite out? If it is dinos then the gfo has probably stripped my water of phosphates leading to this problem. I have some regular activated carbon i could add instead without gfo (stuff from petco with zeolite crystals in it).

Yes, you could pull it and run regular plain activated carbon.
I would.
Then just scrub and do weekly waterchanges.
Keep feeding the fish healthfully.
I’d avoid “probiotic” salts and amino coral foods.

Good deal. My bio load is pretty light at the moment i only have 2 fish one clown and a ywg would it be alrigh to add another or should i wait till things simmer down?

So its been about 2 weeks things still look like poo. I have what appears to be a diatom bloom now and possible bacteria bloom on top of it because my water is a shade cloudy. Plus zoas and gsp still closed up tight. Sand has gone from green to mostly brown with gas bubbles in it which i believe is dinos? But its not stringy like i have seen in most of the pictures of dinos around the forum here. I stir the sand and blow/scrub the rocks off daily and do water changes once a week. My skimmer pump recently broke so and havent replaced it yet.. Not sure how to proceed i would have thought at least the gsp would have started to open back up by now. I really think the chemi pure elite started this all because of the gfo in it destroyed any phosphates i had.
