hey guys im new as you my have read from my many threads but im back asking more i have a 10g dt and 10g sump with live rock/sand a refuge no algae but i do have 5 hermit crabs 2 snails and one peppermint shrimp everyone seems happy in the tank but why wouldn't i be seeing nitrates nitrites or ammonia yet? i know this hobby is all about patients but i feel i would have something

Using Fully Cured Live Rock, you would not see a cycle.

Because your tank metabolized it.

Good news, you can buy that fish now!

It is usually a good thing when you don't see big spikes in the nitrate cycle. Just take things slow and add one fish at a time. It will make your life a whole lot easier in the long run

Yeah, I never saw a cycle either....and have yet to see any nitrates. The tank is now almost 8 months old and fully stocked.

Ive always been told you will always see some nitrates and that was the reason for a water change well that and to replace nutrients :o

I depends on the quality and condition of your live rock and how efficient it is at converting nitrates to nitrogen gas (as well as the use of other nitrate filters).

Well it was premium lr and have loads of coral and other grow as far as other filters that a it im waiting to find chaeto algae for my fuge
