Little shrimp in clam?

Hello friends! My brother found this little shrimp in his Squamosa clam. I want to know if theres info on these little guys.

So recently I bought a squamosa for myself and I hope that I got lucky and get a shrimp with it. Instead I got a crab?!? Any info on these guys? Are they safe or is my squamosa doom?

It looks happy. Any attempts at removal will only injure the clam. Hopefully its a symbiotic relationship...

Cool. . . Its a Pea crab !!
The pea crab relies solely on its host for food, safety, and oxygen. Pea crabs have a variety of hosts, the most important of which are mollusks and clams as the pea crab lives in the mantle cavity of these hosts. the bad news is that removal may cause damage to clam as adults feed by taking the food that is a part of the clams diet well as well. The feeding process can be harmful to the crab's host when it feeds on the mucous strings that help carry the food to the host's mouth

If I saw a coral shrimp or pea crab in a clam, I'd personally would buy it right away.

If it's a pea crab then I believe it's considered parasitic as it steals food from its host, cause gill damage, usually found in oysters. I'd keep an eye on it.

Oh dang I'll just keep a eye out and hope that the crab dont do anything harmful to the clam.

Will do I just really hope that I got a clam shrimp instead of a pea crab oh well just hope that it will be okay.

How big is the Derasa?

It's a squamosa. Roughly 4inch ish?
