Littleblue: Multi-Application Controller

Don't buy this.

This is going to have the exact same problems as the Gen 1 Vertex Cerebra, which is why Vertex is redesigning the entire unit.
Scitronix was contracted to help build the first unit (gen1) and then Vertex decided to end their contract sometime after the Gen 1 unit came out.

Scitronix decided to use Vertex's IP and release their own unit, Vertex claims they are currently going after Scitronix in the courts, but I'd have to wonder why they haven't been able to secure an injunction yet, if it is clear cut theft as they say it is.

Wow, in your first part you sounded pretty clear and solid... but then came the last three lines.

Sometimes a story isn't as easy and clear as it looks like. In that case if you know just one side....Besides this, what do you think how long it takes to go from scratch to do a redesign of such a device.

One thing I can tell you. Having the littleblue tested out in the fields brought a lot Feedback in the past couple of month. All the request where already noted and addresses. Solutions are implemented already. It's final and works like a charm.

Just be open instead to live your life the way others say... make your own decisions... and again, read your last sentence and ask yourself if you know the whole story....:)

So I take it you work for Scitronix?

All I know is what I've seen and what I've read. The Cerebra came out over a year and a half ago.

The UI is the exact same between the two units. The design is the exact same between the two units.

The port layouts are the exact same between the two units.

Software identifiers for some apps in the Cerebra have Scitronix in the name, (com.scitronix.#blah) so we know the relationship was there prior to Vertex breaking it off (for what they claim was quality reasons).

Reps for Vertex have publically stated exactly what I wrote above. This is all public information, not my opinion.

It has been stated that Vertex was perusing legal action. There is more than one side to this story and I have heard one point of view. I would like me to hear Scitronics point of view. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for the cerebra replacement.

As you can see in my LinkedIn profile, I worked for both sides now. I only can tell one thing, I know, is for sure, scitronix paid until now for the development them self. All parts on stock are paid by scitronix. The design and complete programming was done inhouse and if needed paid to third party designer/Grafic services. If some would pay for 5 years development 3 engineers plus 2 Software People... well believe me, is a huge amount.... the situation would be a different one and no question.

Which is totally fine.

Like I said, if Vertex has a case they should have been able to secure an injunction by now.

Let the lawyers figure that out...:) it would just be a shame, if such a great device will be boycott under the wrong circumstances...

Let's see what brings the future, it should be not any kind of my/your problem. The problems we should keep in mind are between and up some glass sheets...:)
But I like to thank you for your open mind and the open words we could exchange. It would be great if more people (most likely on the internet) take this opportunity for such an exchange...

Lol I liked the previous post : "Looks very familiar" , but would also like to add "sounds very familiar" to this one

Well, we needed to do something. And we needed to do it quick since we invested so much the last couple of years in this and the plan was a different one. But as written before, some tries to damage us by providing a wrong reputation, so what else we can do to show people we like to do serious business and find people we can proof that service excellence is not just a marketing headline... as you can see in the previous posts, someone is putting stones in our way but I like to build bridges with it instead of walls.

Have a great day

I like the attitude. That is a great start. Good luck

After going through this cerebra issue, I wont support either company.

I'm really sorry that you made this decision already. I'm sorry even more that I not get the opportunity to present you us and our vision of service, support and customer care. You sounded pretty solid on this.

Nevertheless, thank you for letting us know.
I hope you will find a product that fits your need and will be the solution you searching for.

Happy Reefing.
