I'll probably get some flak for this- but i hate to kill anything. So, i ended up with a mantis tank.
Then. I found an unidentifiable anemone. Everyone said aiptasia kill it with fire. I researched it and discovered there are several species of aiptasia and not all become invasive. Not wanting to take any chances on removal / spreading, i just took the whole danged rock and put it in the mantis tank. Filter feeder, help clean the tank, lets see what happens. They exist in the wild, they must have SOME purpose, right?
So. Fast forward several weeks.
It has not spread, but has grown into a beautiful well behaved specimen who loves to take little tidbits of food from me and hasn't moved an inch.
Anyway, just wanted to post this picture and maybe encourage people to not just arbitrarily kill something, perhaps unnecessarily. QT it and see what happens. It might turn out beautiful.
