Live Aquaria acclimation process?

I have new fish and inverts today (bristoletooh tang, filefish and peppermint shrimp)
..arrived 10am early though! hopefully all will be OK since I can’t get home til 5pm. Temp outside today is 72 so I think they should be ok.

I was reading their drip acclimation procedure and am confused..

They say drip til water doubled...discard half them drip til double then drop in tank.

If I need to move from 1.020 to 1.025 won’t that end me at approx 1.023? Should I do it a third time or trust the process? They say it should take about an hour.

Thoughts?

It'll get you 3/4 of the way there. More than enough.

Thanks. Not a big deal with the package on the doorstep for 7hrs since ambient temps are 72?

So fish in bags for almost right on 24hrs

A little too late to be asking that, no? Not trying to be snarky but I think you know it isn’t ideal and you want reassurance. They should be ok but they are shipped with early delivery for a reason. If the sun is beating down on the box it could get hot.

If they come in at 1.020 then match your QT to that. Salinity shouldn't be raised on a fish more than like .002 per day was the rule of thumb I was told.

Sad news...
The small Bristletooth Tang was DOA Pretty upset about that...Here's a photo...Is this Juvenile coloration and I screwed up my arrival time home and too young to survive 6hrs on the doorstep, or does it look unhealthy?

The filefish and a carpet anemone seem OK (didn't receive any peppermint shrimp though for some reason...) Water temp was 71F when I opened the box.

I was supposed to be home at noon so I could grab right away, but emergency at work happened so everything got screwed up...Pretty unhappy
