I placed my first order with liveaquaria for 11 fishes; five green chromis, three lyre tail anthis, two banggai cardinals and a yellow tang. When I received my package the next day, I was shocked at how they shipped the fish. They placed four chromis in one bag, which were all dead upon arrival. both cardinals in one bag (DOA) and the two anthis in one bag which died the next day. I don't know if this is a common practice with them, to ship multiple fish in the same bag.

Last time I bought 7 lyretail anthias, they were shipped in individual bags.

When you call them for the replacements, which they will do after 14 days, ( free of charge) ask them to ship each fish in a separate bag.

Unfortunately I have seen a recent decrease in LAs quality. DD is still sending great things though

Ugh - Hopefully this doesn't become a norm. Over a year ago I had ordered 3 Chromis and a few other fish...Each came in their own bags. Most of the stuff I order (if I do) comes from Divers Den though.

They sure did. Then Petco was recently sold to a Private Equity firm as well...Too many changes. :(

I have never had problems with LA hopefully their quality doesn't go down the drain

I bought 5 chromis a week back. Four were in one bag, the fifth in its own bag. The single chromis had the largest bag. Luckily, they all survived.

I have had issues with the California location several times in the last month. Several shipments were packaged poorly and the heat packs were directly on the bags. So most of the orders were doa because the fish got way too hot. I'm going to guess there's been some changes since being bought by petco and they weren't positive changes. Seems to me like there's some very inexperienced people working there with no clue on how to package shipments. DD seems to be about the same but I did have the same issue out of them also. They placed the heat packs directly on top of the bags with no barrier.

I just got an order from LA this morning. It has been a while since I've ordered from them and I was worried when Petco bought them. Everything was individually packed and the heat packs were distributed evenly. I am happy with how my stuff was shipped. I'm hoping that the bad experiences members have had are just anomalies.

I have never had good luck with them , I order a clean up crew and all but a few snails died all they did was offer me credit if I wanted them to reship them I was going to have to pay shipping again

Alright guys I just received a MASSIVE LA, divers den, and ORA shipment - 3 divers den clams, 3 urchins, an Aussie harlequin tusk, divers den yellow belly regal angel, Ora orchid dottyback, moorish idol, Annularis Angel, clown tang, duster cluster, red mushroom rock, two leathers, 2 shrimp, 9 starfish of 3 different types, a feather duster, and a couple other things I think I forgot. All came in as represented, alive, well, no mixed orders no mistakes packaged fantastic as always.

I prefer NYAquatic except for the guarantee but he didn't have what I needed this week.

Anyway, everything went as expected or better.
