Ok, I’ve looked to try and find this out and can’t seem to find anything.
Has anyone heard that Liveaquaria is now owned by Petco??

Well if that is true, I will not purchase a bio ball from them.

I don't think anyone really cares where you get your balls. I do all my shopping at a handful of local shops, but I know one Petco nearby is pretty nice, but I'm fortunate enough to have many MUCH better options...... I don't need to order online at all anyways.

Lol, yeah options for me are limited to Petco, PetSmart, and a small reef shop where there owner doesn't like to put prices on anything. I just have personal issues with Petco. I highly doubt it hurts their business, makes me feel a little better though.

If I didn't have awesome options locally, I'd do everything online too..... I have been 100% more satisfied with getting corals locally than online though.....

Edit: not sure where you are, but maybe a rare road-trip, stock up, and come home trip is possible?

I'd rather drive an hour than order a fish online.

My understanding was that Petco had owned Drs Foster & Smith since 2016 who had previously purchased Live Aquaria in 2001. It was recently announced that Foster & Smith would be closing down but Live Aquaria would continue. Presumably this means that Petco will continue to own Live Aquaria.

I lived in Virginia Beach for 12 years never had a issue buying locally. I moved to Washington state and it's either drive 2 to 3 hours each way or order online. Do not really like the shipping time, not being able to select an individual that I want, and the extra price on shipping but I really hate driving also. By the way, I don't even use bio balls, I have no clue why I said it.

I don't understand why you cant buy bio balls. it hardly has anything to do with live aquaria and them owning it. I can understand if you don't want to support petco but come one its just bio balls. not like your giving them hundreds.

It was an exaggeration to make a point, or reinforce a point.

Old news. Also, if you look at fish online on Petco it's from LA...
