Live aquaria salt

Have been using it for a couple of months. I like it. Cheap, mixes clean,dKH 7.5-8, tank happy.

I was looking at this, any feed back on how it mixes and is there any residue

Do they make it themselves or is it just IO rebranded for example?

I heard fritz but don't know if thats true. Maybe they making it themselves. Maybe others might know.

From the interview that reef builders did with them, they are making it themselves. They are ani enough company, live aquaria is owned by fosters and Smith. I unfortunately have not used any yet. Still getting through the last of my aqua forest

Which in turn is owned by Petco ..... Not sure what that has to do with anything.

Doesn't seem any cheaper than standard IO. Curious that the box is 205 gallons .... Why not 206 :D. It's a consistent pet peeve of mine that the salt sellers misrepresent their product. Size it based on 1.025 please ....

My only grip over the years with IO is that a 50 gallon bag only mixes to 44 gallons at 1.026. However, I still use it since I have not yet found it's equal... but I do know how to lower alk and raise calcium to get it just perfect for me.

Meaning they can source their own lines and not have to go through a IO or Fritzs. I believe it is 205 g to be mixed at 1.026. Most other salts say 200g or whatever, but it in reality mixes to lower when you mix at 1.026.

I end up having to bump mag a lot with IO. So it’s kind of a pain. I would use tropic marine pro, but it’s almost double the price.

Lots of big companies outsource things that aren't core competency. Would be interesting to actually know whether they are making it versus rebadging. Also interesting to know whether it's 205 at 1.025/6. I get about 180 gallons from the 200 gallon IO box.

I was under the Impression L.A. is Now a Stand alone Co or will be. The manager at my local PetCo told me that DFS was being Sold or is in the process. I see LA is now carrying all the dry goods DFS carries. Why the redundancy.

I get instant ocean below $30 a box so I am going to stick with it until I can’t find any. But still interested to know if liveaquaria salt has any advantages over other brands
