Live Aquaria sent me the wrong fish! What is this?

That's actually what I have been thinking about adding to the house. I have blink cameras watching my Tank , vehicles and storage / workshop building but nothing on my front porch.

Not sure how much it will help if there is a theft problem in your area. I'm over in the Frisco area and it seems like I get a ring alert daily with a video posting of someone's package getting stolen. The thieves are basically going house to house looking for packages. It is different people so it is either a gang or just random thieves. A couple have even posted a person following the UPS/FEDEX truck and stopping at each of their stops. I just get everything I can delivered to work now.

There is another aspect that has not been up here yet.
If You get a package with everything wrong in it it is somebody elses that has got the wrong label.
It also means that someone else probably has got Your package.
So with some telephone work it might be possible to find if there is a possiblity to correct it.

Agreed. People often lose their sense of ethics when interacting with companies. “Oh it’s their fault, my gain” etc. Sounds like he paid for it, it was accidentally refunded due to a technical issue, and did not pay for it again.

I’ve accidentally sent a person or two double shipments of something they bought, and when they let me know, I thank them and they keep it. Or I’ve received random test kits from BRS, called them and they said that they were replacements meant for someone else, and that I can keep them. Best to be ethical.
Absolutely agree as it happed to me with my very first order from @LiveAquaria with bloodfire shrimp and I had no idea they molted and a week later I can’t find my shrimp that’s about $39 or something that I paid and I called and the rep said it could be molting and few days later I see a shell so I send the picture of the shell and @LiveAquaria did credit my account but couple of weeks later when I was fighting GHA I picked up one of the rock and saw the shrimp underneath hiding I called and told @LiveAquaria to reverse the credit as I take that credit from them now and will end up paying much larger chunk somewhere else. Right ethics are definitely the KEY TO SUCCESS in life..

Yeah LA screwed up an order for me a while back. Sent me the wrong tube nem. They were like we will give you $5 in store credit...……..For real? I don't know if I will shop with them anytime soon. Cause now I have this ugly tube nem in my tank and don't have any place to take it.

a local club member received a tang today by accident - they must have really botched a bunch of orders up
New owners, and live aquaria is going well down hill. This is proof. Old live aquaria was way better.

I am just curious- do you know when they were bought out, and if any management changed whatsoever in the livestock departments?

AFAIK DD/LA remains part of Petco (the only surviving part of DFS I believe) and has so since being bought back in 2015. I’d not heard that it got spun off. There always somebody with a comment about how much LA has gone downhill since <fill in the blank>. Other than DD and ORA, it’s also just an order taking business; all of the packing and shipping is done by Quality Marine in Los Angeles (don’t believe this has changed either).

Certainly LA have changed some of their business practices. Some, like the collection of sales tax were legally obligated, others presumably to improve the bottom line. Must confess that the box charge is a bit annoying.

does anyone know how ordering biota through LA works? my mom recently ordered a biota mandarin and it shipped from Wisconsin, but it came in suuuuuper skinny and died within a couple hours. just kinda curious how that works. isn't biota's US facility in florida? so it doesn't work like ordering ORA where it comes straight from ORA

We are sorry to hear of the Biota Mandarin that perished. If you haven't already done so, please contact one of our agents at 1-800-334-3699 to claim your loss (within the 14 day guarantee). Biota items ship from the Rhinelander, WI location. We sell Biota aquatic life on Diver's Den (WYSIWYG) and as sku'd items - meaning, both ship from WI. Biota does not ship direct via LiveAquaria like ORA. ORA regular sku'd aquatic life ships from from Florida. However, ORA items offered on Diver's Den (WYSIWYG) do ship from the WI facility. Hope that gives you a better understanding. Thank you.

I bought an achilies from LA once for $250. They canceled my order and refunded me....sorry the fish is gone.

Next day...ding dong.. package from LA.
Free achilies!!
Thank goodness they sent you that and NOT an Achilles...

@LiveAquaria How does the Indo thing look for LA? Do you have any scheduled imports?

I have had good experiences with LA. Their fish arrive alive more often then others I have ordered from and they are quick to credit when they don't.

i got a blue regal tang and 2 female squareback anthias this week from LA the hippo is a little smaller then i expected but the anthias are really healthy and are large already eating well

My first with them went really went, and the 14 day guarantee is on point. Had a few snails not make it and a royal gamma, all was credited and made right. I’m sure you will be taken care of.

Respect to LA for engaging on this thread. It’s nice for customers to feel listened to (even if the comments aren’t friendly). On the flip side are companies like EcoTech, who are no where to be found when people express their frustrations on this forum <ahem>.

So if somebody finds your wallet with $250 its ok for them to keep it?
LOL. Come on LiveAquaria! You're better than this. While I 100% understand and even agree with your point, this post just seems more like a knee-jerk and unprofessional response. It would probably serve your point better to professionally remind everyone that in the end, this sort of thing only ends up driving up the cost for all Liveaquaria customers.
