I am new to buying fish online but Live Aquaria has a way better selection than my local fish store. I noticed and have been watching the Divers Den and they seem to have some pretty cool fish. But I am not sure or understand why i would pay 30 percent more for a fish on the Divers Den that I can get from their normal marine fish section. Am I missing something? Are they cared for differently?

Also is there another website that I can order fish that is as good as Live Aquaria?

Thanks for your help. Just trying to learn.

I like live aquaria. The only other place I've ordered is salt water fish.com. I like LA much better and their warranty is better.

Not only that but they offer a 14 day guarantee on most of their stuff, which is an amazing value. If you buy a fish and it dies, they'll ship you another one totally free (even pay for shipping). I've never received a bad looking specimen from them either. As much as I want to support my LFS, when it comes to fish I usually go through live aquaria

Past orders from LA were great. My last one was horrible. I am hoping it was a rare occurrence and not a decrease in care standards.

Recently I purchased a rabbit fish, a butterfly fish and a couple corals. The corals were aquacultured and the guarantee was 30 days. Both died. I sent a picture and they gave me a refund with no problem. Many others only give you store credit unless they are DOA.

Make sure you still qt the fish, whether it's from divers den or livequaria. No fish source is safe enough to not qt.

Divers den is also for more uncommon and harder to keep fish, IMO. Fish from divers den are acclimated to captivity and eating already. Better chances with DD

8 orders from LA so far, 1 of which was divers den. All went really well including using their 14-day warranty once. Occasionally they will ship an incomplete order if there's an issue, but they'll let you know and will send the rest of it out at no additional cost.

I've probably ordered 50-75 fish from DD and LA over the years. Very happy.

Also very happy with NYAquatic, Petsolutions.com (same warranty, suppliers, and free shipping at $99 and above instead of 225 on live aquaria and better selection) and PiecesOfTheOcean as well.
