I have 2 domino clowns in QT. They have been refusing food. the LFS did not have any live blackworms so I purchased some live brine shrimp. They ate these like no tomorrow. Then I realized that brine=salt. Is there a risk of introducing ich or velvet into the display from feeding live brine shrimp. Please tell me I did not screw up

I think your fine. The salt water they use SHOULD be mixed specifically for the shrimp and not taken from a running tank.

Theoretically speaking, there is a risk of tomonts encysting to their little exoskeletons. However, infected fish would have to be present for that to happen. Meaning, the brine shrimp hatchery would have to be tied into a system that contains fish.

Right ^^ If your store is like mine then the "feeder room" has tanks all it's own just for these feeders. No saltwater fish are anywhere near their tanks. That's not always the case though, so you might ask that question.

The LFS gets them delivered once a week. I believe they just pour them from the shipping bag into a bucket They sell out in a few days. However I will query them about the water they are in.
