Live Brine Shrimp

Hi,

I just received a free bottle of live bring shrimp with my order from Algae Barn.
Am I suppose to just dump the entire bottle and let my fish at it?
The bottles says use in two days. I just don't want to overload my tank with phosphates or nitrates.

Can someone give me adivc

Just put them in a small glass bowl or Tupperware container in the refrigerator. Use a spoon to dish out portions at feeding time.

A good thing about live foods is they usually dont cause excess nutrients as quickly like other foods.

Put a bit of selcon in the bowl with them adult brine shrimp have no nitritional value otherwise

Or fill up a 5 gallon bucket with some fresh salt water and add an air pump, and start farming them. Feed them a pinch of spirulina powder daily, occasional selcon treat. You'll know they are reproducing when you have different sizes swimming around.
