Hi all,

Anyone recognize the two types of algae coming out of my gulf live rock?

Red circle: gracilaria?
Yellow circle: ??? I tried to tweeze this out and it is holding on fast

Also copied link to photo without the circles if needed. Thanks!

The one on the left is likely dictyota, the right one i'm not too sure but looks kind of like bryopsis.
Bingo on Dictyota! The green macroalgae could also be the green variant of Gracilaria tikvahiae or Cladophora (hard to tell from the image resolution).

Gracilaria tikvahiae (green variant):

Wow, thanks! And everyone else (@reddevilant @SlugSnorter @beehive124 )

The right one seems very slow growing. It has been there for a month as a green shoot and just now starting to branch. Was initially worried about bryopsis, but wouldn't bryopsis grow a bit faster?

Sounds like good macro to have. I'll let it grow out and see what happens.

bonus for you guys/gals, check out my cerith with firmly attached gracilaria antlers:
