Hey, I had a tank crash about 8 months ago ( my fault) and I decided I would start it back up soon. I plan to use the rock I previously used in the tank which has been out of water and dry since the crash.
My question is do I need to cure the live rock before use again.
Or
Can I use it to cycle my tank again without fish or corals?
Thanks

What caused the crash? Hard to suggest what to do with the rock without telling us why it may or may not need cleaning/cycling

If your tank isn't on the small side, use a tub with a powerhead and heater with new saltwater.
Leave it running for a week and see what cycle you get - NH3 or not and deal with it appropriately.
If you get PO4 readings perform weekly 100% waterchanges until you're happy with the tests.

Yes I am using a small tank 20g. So I will just do it within the tank. Thanks.

I want to add that this is going to be a new set up. So if I add the uncured old live rock that’s dry. Wouldn’t that aid in the cycle over the never two months or so?
