hey so ive been cycling just two small pieces of live rock that was used already by another reefer in his sump and it has been in a bucket cycling for about 5 or 6 weeks now....its already got coraline on it when i got it and looks kind of mature but had a bunch of detritus and other stuff on it so over this time ive made new saltwater for the two pieces dipped them cleaned them and transfer....ive kept tracked of the po4 for this time and used to measure pretty high over 1.0 and now its between .25 and .5 .....being that is measuring this amount of po4 now, you guys think it would be safe to go ahead and incorporate it inside my display now?

That really depends on the size of the tank that you are placing it in. In a large system, it will likely have zero impact on your parameters. A 10-gallon nano, possibly another story.

As long as the crud is gone . paces the sniff test etc. I like the steps You have taken. Not bad for a Bull dog !;)

What critters do you have in your main tank? What is the P level in the main? How do you export P from the main?
The new rock will likely continue to release P for a some time. I would expect those two rock to grow algae on them in your tank.

Can Ya wait till levels in the barrel drop some more? keep up with the water changes .

I find, and I believe one of the BRS video tests as well (the one comparing curing methods), that PO4 tends to plateau at a level. Unless you want to use something like Lanthanum Chloride. I say you can just go with it in that size tank. PO4 should lessen with your methods of filtration and nutrient removal. I added mine with PO4 around 0.2 ppm and am just under 0.1 three months later.

IMHO you should be just fine with that sized system. You can wait and it certainly can not hurt to wait a little more. I find that patience is a key component to a successful reef tank.
