hey reefer another question about my tank. My live rock has this green color and wondering what I could do to remove it

The “green color “ is algae and you can remove but it will keep coming back over and over

Is it a new tank? If so, it's natural. It'll turn you coralline before you know it

Can you get a pic ?
Coraline algea takes a while to get going it’s not a intstant algea that starts to grow

looks like algae to me...see how your snail is making it white where he has been.

once the coraline grows the green stuff has a hard time taking hold. do you have an urchin? they will eat coraline...which is generally unwanted.

No I’ve been wanting to get one. What kind of urchin should I get?

There’s a insufficient amount of algea for the urchin to eat . There’s no point of taking the rock out and srubbing the rock everytime algea appears. Let “nature” take its course and again coraline algea is going to appear for a while .

if you want tons of coraline then dont get any. I really like my urchins but i do see paths where they mow through coraline.

a tuxedo urchin is really funny...or agrivating. they pick up stuff from your tank and carry it around as camouflage. shells, bits if rock, frags, zoa colonies, mine was carrying around an algae clip for a week. LOL

oh yeah.. i meant that eating coraline is unwanted.. not that coraline itself is unwanted. :)
